Shaul talking some wrasslin!
The multifaceted Shaul Guerrero is no longer an active in-ring competitor but she is still involved in the business. The daughter of Vickie Guerrero and WWE Hall Of Famer Eddie Guerrero was a part of the NXT brand at one point but she put an end to her career in 2014. Shaul returned to wrestling in February of this year as a commentator for Reality Of Wrestling's 'Ladies Night Out' show and she recently signed a contract to become a ring announcer for the 'Women's Of Wrestling' promotion.
Shaul is finding herself in the pro wrestling business again and she spoke to that when she was interviewed by 'Solo Wrestling'. The question of how did her family react to the news that she wanted to pursue a career in wrestling came up and Shaul answered with the following:
"At first they were very frank about how hard the business was. Of course, my mother was concerned about my body and how I would handle the issue of struggles. But my mother has always been my biggest cheerleader and supported me 100 percent. Dad, when he was alive, he was also worried and I did not want him to have to face the politicking of the business." She said. "However, when I told him that I was serious about learning at an early age, he agreed to train me. Unfortunately, we all know that they took it from us too soon."
Shaul departed from WWE on two separate occasions. She requested her release from the company in 2012 and returned just one year later. In 2014 it was reported that WWE released Guerrero from her contract and she soon confirmed that news and contributed it to an eating disorder that she had. During this interview Shaul explained why she initially departed from WWE and decided to return.
"I missed the people, the ring and the lifestyle that comes with being a fighter. WWE has always been and will be my second family. But I felt strong enough after being in rehabilitation for so long because of my eating disorder to return and face the scrutiny of the public eye." She explained.
As mentioned Shaul Guerrero is now a ring announcer for the 'WOW' promotion and she spoke about how that position fell into her lap.
"David McLane discovered me when I was visiting Lucha Underground and asked if I wanted to be part of WOW. It was an easy decision. This company is fantastic and supports the feminine revolution." She said. "Women have always had the ability to carry out their own shows... so we just needed the opportunity. The quality and integrity is very high and I feel honored to be considered to be the announcer of the show, and many people do not know but I love to present. Matt Martlaro taught me at FCW and I always had my best moments working there. Not to mention that you have the best chair in the room."
