Shawn Michaels extends gratitude to Carmelo Hayes for building the NXT brand back up following the WWE NXT 2.0 rebranding and wishes him well on his new journey on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
Carmelo Hayes had a few cameo appearances on WWE main roster television in the past but as of April 26, he is officially the newest member of the WWE Friday Night Smackdown roster. Carmelo was a huge part of NXT during the transition from the Triple H-led black and gold era of the brand and into the NXT 2.0 era and beyond.
Following Hayes' move to WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Shawn Michaels, who is the man in charge of NXT now, thanked Carmelo Hayes in a post on X.
.@Carmelo_WWE is a champion in every sense of the word who helped lay the foundation of everything this new era of #WWENXT has become. #SmackDown just picked up a game changer, and I couldn’t be more proud. #WWEDraft https://t.co/19EGTuY3cQ

Carmelo Hayes wasted no time showing up and showing out on Friday nights as he headlined his first night on the main roster with a non-title match against WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Shawn Michaels also had kind words for Kiana James, the former NXT Superstar who was called up to WWE Monday Night Raw in the draft. Read those comments here.
