Shawn Spears gives an update on his wife Cassie Lee (WWE's Peyton Royce) and her future in wrestling.
Cassie Lee, also known as Peyton Royce, is a former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion and TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champion. Lee is currently on a significant hiatus from wrestling and is focusing on her family and motherhood.
Lee's husband, WWE NXT star Shawn Spears, recently revealed during an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight that Lee still has the itch and keeps up with modern wrestling, but nobody has extended an offer for her to return yet.
"She does. She watches it a lot. She watches it more than I do. That doesn’t mean I don’t watch wrestling. It just means I’m busy a lot. I’m around and can see a lot of stuff. She keeps up on it. She still loves watching a lot of her friends. She’s still getting the itch. She’s already weight training and doing that kind of stuff. She’s getting back into the mix. When she feels 100% good to go, there is a ring close by. She plans on getting back into it. She doesn’t know to what capacity, meaning no one has said, ‘Hey, come on back,’ not iMPACT! or anything, but with the working relationship, who is to say that’s not a possibility? She still misses it and still has an itch. We’ll see."
