Shawn Spears defeated one of the newest members of the NXT roster in his return match at NXT Roadblock 2024. Afterward, he offered another awakening to Ridge Holland.
Spears competed in his first match since returning to WWE NXT on February 27 when he defeated Uriah Connors at NXT Roadblock. Connors is the new name for Brogan Finlay, son of David Finlay.
After Spears defeated Finlay, he cut a promo asking Ridge Holland to let go of his emotional baggage and Holland rushed the ring and attempted to do that.
Holland wound up attacking Spears with all of his might as Spears egged it all on. Spears offered Holland a chair but before Holland could use it, referees came out to stop him.

Finlay had reportedly been offered a contract in October 2023 and headed to the WWE performance center in January 2024.
