Shayna Baszler Explains Four Horsewomen Mae Young Classic Appearance

Shayna Baszler is poised to be a star in WWE's Mae Young Classic tournament, but that's not the only reason she turned heads at the tapings.

The former UFC fighter was joined by three familiar faces at the event. Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, former UFC fighter Jessamyn Duke, and former Invicta fighter Marina Shafir were all there to lend their support to Baszler. Collectively, the four have been known as the "Four Horsewomen of MMA."

"We're such good friends and training partners and teammates," Baszler said in an interview with TV Insider. "I specifically called all three of them and said, 'Guys, this is the most important thing I've ever done in my combat sports career. I'd love for you guys to be there because you were there at the beginning of all of this, and I would like you to be there for this.' They were like, 'Yeah, you got it. We'll drop whatever we are doing. We're there.'"

Baszler has competed as a pro wrestler for a couple of years now. As Fightful.com exclusively reported, Ronda Rousey also joined Jessamyn Duke in training with Brian Kendrick recently, while Shafir is engaged to NXT Superstar Roderick Strong and has appeared on NXT TV.

The first batch of Mae Young Classic episodes are now available on the WWE Network
