Sheamus would love to have a match at NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin and one of his dream opponents for the card is another ultra-popular WWE Superstar of Irish descent.
A common theme during WWE NXT TakeOver events throughout their limited history has been the appearance of a main roster WWE Superstar in order to boost viewership and add some credibility to the card. Cesaro had a critically acclaimed match against Ilja Dragunov at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff in August 2019, and Finn Balor took on Jordan Devlin during the inaugural NXT UK TakeOver event.
Recently, speaking to Sportskeeda, Sheamus revealed that he would like to play a role in the upcoming NXT UK takeover event in Dublin, Ireland. While he says he has not been contacted, he did name drop three competitors he would like to face at the event including former WWE Universal champion, Finn Balor.
"I'd love to be involved. I haven't heard anything," Sheamus began. 'WWE hasn't approached me about it, nobody has asked me about it so I don't know. I know it's there, it will be a huge thing. I'd love to go. I'd love a match with Finn, would be great. Walter. Wolfgang. You know what I'm saying? There's a lot of great talent over there. I'm up for it all but no-one has approached me at all about it."
As it stands right now the show is set to take place on Sunday, April 26, 2020 live from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. Sheamus and Balor had a live event match in that very arena back in 2015.
Due to the Coronavirus and public gatherings being canceled daily, it remains to be seen if this show will take place as scheduled. Fightful will report any and all updates as they become available.
