Shelton Benjamin Feels Like He's Been Suppressed, 'I Love That I Can Be Me At AEW'

Shelton Benjamin has long been considered one of the most underutilized talents over the past two decades as many fans saw his talent, but he was never featured at a main event level in WWE.

Shelton has gotten off to a strong start in AEW, defeating Lio Rush and Sammy Guevara while going toe-to-toe with former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland.

Speaking to Renee Paquette on Up Close, Shelton was asked if he feels he's finally been able to show everyone what he can do.

"I definitely feel like I've been suppressed. I've been in the business for a little bit. I've done a few things. I definitely felt like here in AEW I've had the opportunity to show fans who I really am, what I really can do, and not me doing what I had to do for the people I worked with previously. I love that I can be me here at AEW," he said.

Shelton reunited with MVP and Bobby Lashley to form the Hurt Syndicate in AEW.
