Shelton Benjamin can't confirm that The Hurt Business is getting back together.
Throughout 2020 and parts of 2021,The Hurt Business dominated WWE RAW. Bobby Lashley had a lengthy run as the WWE United States Champion, and he later won his first world title with WWE. Cedric Alexander and Benjamin also won the Raw Tag Team Championship together before the group broke up. The faction briefly reunited later in 2021, but they went their separate ways in January 2022. Benjamin and Alexander continued to team up together, but they also parted ways until they recently paired up again.
Over the past few weeks, fans have been buzzing about a potential reunion of the popular stable. MVP has tried to recruit Lashley, but the former WWE Champion has yet to take him up on his officer. But the situation evolved on the January 16 episode of WWE Raw. MVP interfered in the match between Alexander and Benjamin and The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins). Despite his efforts, Alexander and Benjamin were unable to score the win. Later in the show, MVP and Omos helped Bobby Lashley win a six-way elimination match to earn a shot at the WWE United States Championship.
During an appearance on the January 18 episode of WWE's The Bump, Benjamin was asked whether The Hurt Business is getting back together. Benjamin noted that there are a lot of moving parts, but as businessmen, he and Alexander are listening. He also pointed out that they still have to work out some kinks as a duo, given the way they lost their match on Raw.
“If you ask MVP, maybe. If you ask me and Cedric, we still got some kinks to work out before we can commit to that. Obviously Bobby’s got some things going on of his own, so there’s a lot of moving parts. Are we interested? Of course. We’re businessmen. We’re listening. But at this point, I can’t confirm that the Hurt Business is gonna get back together," Benjamin said.
Lashley previously stated that he will make sure The Hurt Business gets back together. Check out his comments here.
