Shinsuke Nakamura may have let a secret slip about a WWE superstar potentially heading to Japan soon.
Nakamura recently appeared on the Talking Smack show on the WWE Network and said that his Backlash opponent Dolph Ziggler might soon be leaving WWE for the Land of the Rising Sun. In Nakamura’s brief time with SmackDown, he already has a pay-per-view win over Ziggler and the former NXT Champion said Ziggler would be a successful wrestler in Japan.
“I felt, when I made my debut on SmackDown, that [Ziggler] was such a good wrestler,” Nakamura said. “If he goes to Japan, probably soon, I think he would do well.” You can watch Nakamura's comments below.
Ziggler has voiced his displeasure with WWE in the past before and WWE teased the idea of Ziggler leaving the company last year when he was in a Title vs. Career match against The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at the No Mercy pay-per-view. Ziggler has won numerous titles while in WWE, including the World Heavyweight, United States and Intercontinental Championship. He was also a former World Tag Team champion as a member of the Spirit Squad stable.
Nakamura knows a lot about having success in Japan. Nakamura spent the entirety of his pre-WWE wrestling career in New Japan Pro Wrestling, winning the IWGP Intercontinental and Heavyweight Championship and even main eventing New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom show. Nakamura has been in WWE since 2006, starting out in NXT.
Both men will be competing in the Money in the Bank ladder match at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on June 18.
