SHO won the KOPW Provisional Championship at NJPW Destruction in Kobe, defeating Taichi in a match where members of House of Torture and Just Five Guys were handcuffed to each other.
The finish saw Yoshinobu Kanemaru turn on Just Five Guys, spitting whiskey in the face of Taichi, and joining House of Torture. SHO would then hit the Shock Arrow and put Taichi away.

The man who holds the KOPW Provisional Championship at the end of the year is declared the KOPW Champion.
The provisional title is defended in stipulation matches throughout the year where the competitors pick the stipulation and the fans vote.
Taichi did not make a single successful title defense after beating Shingo Takagi at NJPW Wrestling Satsuma no Kuni 2023 in April for the provisional title.
