Simone Johnson Recalls Her Grandma Introducing Her To Wrestling

Simone Johnson was seemingly born into the wrestling business as the daughter of The Rock, but it wasn't her father who got her into wrestling.

Speaking to Alicia Atout, Johnson revealed how she initially caught the wrestling budy and who she caught it from.

"When I was a kid, I used to sleepover at her house on weekends and I hadn't really watched wrestling at all until my dad returned in 2011, and then my grandma sat me down and said, 'Okay, we should start watching wrestling.' My grandma has cases and cases of wrestling DVDs and I would go through them all the time and watch them for hours. That was what made me fall in love with wrestling and I was like, 'I want to do this one day.'"

Simone continued, "Obviously, my dad and grandpa wrestled, so I think my grandma always wanted that to be apart of my life and when my dad came back, she thought that was the right opportunity and she was right."

Simone officially signed a WWE developmental deal in February and was training at the Performance Center prior to the pandemic. She has been part of the Performance Center crowd during the empty arena events.
