IMPACT Wrestling kicked off night one of their television tapings in Queens, New York at the Melrose Ballroom on Thursday night and returning to IMPACT at the first set of tapings was former WWE Cruiserweight Champion and former TNA X Division Champion TJ Perkins. Perkins went one-on-one with Ace Austin and picked up a win over Ace.

The last time that TJ Perkins competed for IMPACT Wrestling was in 2016 before he went to WWE and competed in the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic Tournament. Perkins made appearances and had runs in IMPACT as "Puma", Suicide and Manik. He has been affiliated with IMPACT Wrestling since 2004 and he has returned to the company at their television taping heading into their Slammiversary XVII pay-per-view on July 7th.
