First, IMPACT Wrestling announced that Abyss will face Eli Drake in a Monster's Ball Match at Homecoming. The feud between the two started at Bound For Glory when Abyss answered Drake's open challenge. The match was never made official, but the segment ended with Abyss putting Drake through a table. Abyss has not wrestled for IMPACT since Mar. 22 when he lost to Kongo Kong in a Monster's Ball Match. Abyss was inducted into the IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2018.

The second Hall of Famer to return at Homecoming will be Gail Kim. The 2016 Hall of Fame inductee will serve as the special guest referee for the Knockouts Championship bout between champion Tessa Blanchard and challenger Taya Valkyrie.
