Stephanie McMahon: "I Hope To See Our Women Main Event WrestleMania"

Stephanie McMahon has high hopes for the women's roster.

The viral push for tonight's WWE Evolution has been in full swing this weekend as the female WWE superstars have taken over social media. No one has been at the forefront of that push like WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon, the on-screen creator of Sunday's historic event.

Appearing on WWE Now with Cathy Kelley, Stephanie discussed WWE Evolution and her hopes for the women's roster moving forward.

"I hope the legacy will be...it is not so ground-breaking or earth-shattering to have an all-women's pay-per-view event," said Stephanie. "I hope to see our women main event WrestleMania. Every match at WrestleMania is a main event, but I want to see them close the show the way they have, successfully, on so many other shows. We want to have true gender parity and equality on the WWE roster. I'm so anxious to get there."

Stephanie has spoken about gender equality and parity on the WWE roster before. She recently stated that she would like as many females on the roster as there are males. As far as headlining WrestleMania goes, women have already headlined major pay-per-view events such as Hell in a Cell and the Royal Rumble. And with Sunday's first-ever all-women's pay-per-view just hours away, females headlining WrestleMania is certainly within reach.

Elsewhere in the interview, Stephanie revealed that "if tonight’s event is what we all hope and know it will be, then we will absolutely see that this is the first of many to come.”
