Vince McMahon famously wrestled "God" at WWE Backlash 2006 in a tag team match where he teamed with Shane McMahon against "God" and Shawn Michaels.
McMahon has also taken the Lord's name in vain many times on television throughout his career. One time, he caught in public taking the Lord's name in vain.
Stephanie McMahon shared how he reacted when confronted about his language.
"One time, we were walking and we were in West Port by this outdoor place near Starbucks. We're talking about something as this lady is walking by and she is dressed very nicely and had this hat on and everything. He's saying something like, "Jesus Christ,' or something like that. All of a sudden, this woman jumps in-between us, puts her finger out, and says to my father, 'Don't you take the Lord's name in vain.' I'm like, 'Oh shit.' He goes, 'Lady, why don't you take your God and stick him straight up your ass.' This woman, the look on her face was priceless," recalled Stephanie on What's Your Story?

Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, filed a lawsuit in January 2024 against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sexual assault and sex trafficking. McMahon resigned from TKO/WWE following the lawsuit being filed.
