Much has been made about which match will headline night one of WrestleMania 37 with Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Title and Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women's Title being in contention.
Banks has stated in multiple interviews that she is set to main event the show while McIntyre has stated that he would have no issue opening.
Speaking on The Bill Simmons podcast, Stephanie McMahon added more fuel to the fire that Banks vs. Belair will close the show.
"Sasha and Bianca, who is newer, are going to be headlining night one of WrestleMania. That's going to be special and spectacular. I can't wait to see their match," she said when discussing who could carry the torch for WWE.
Furthering her praise of Banks, Stephanie said, "I've always known that Sasha could be right at the top. She just has that 'it' factor. She just shines. Ultimately, it's not my decision. I'm certainly very excited for Sasha to have this moment. During the pandemic, I've actually heard fans credit Bayley and Sasha for carrying things during the pandemic with their storyline and I think they did. I'm so grateful to them for doing so."
While Banks could headline night one of WrestleMania 37, Bayley is without a match and not scheduled to be on the show.
