Stephanie Vaquer Says Match With Mercedes Mone At Forbidden Door Was A 'Great Challenge With A Great Wrestler'

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door both the TBS and NJPW STRONG Women's Championships were on the line as Mercedes Mone and Stephanie Vaquer met for the second time in singles competiton. Mone would end up walking away with the victory in the match, resulting in her becoming a double champion. However, a short time after the match, Vaquer would sign with WWE, something Mone took partial credit for in the latest Mone Mag.

In a new Instagram story, Stephanie responded to Mone's comments, noting the issues that she faced in the lead up to the match.

"Before that match I had 4 days of just sleeping on planes and weeks of working daily, also many hours without eating, a great challenge with a great wrestler, she was really nice. When you work hard for a long time it always brings rewards."
