Steve Blackman battled Shane McMahon at WWE SummerSlam 2000 in a hardcore match. The bout is best remembered for Shane falling off the entrance stage after Blackman whacked him with a kendo stick.

Blackman got to showcase his weapons in the bout, which also featured run ins from Test and Albert (Matt Bloom).

"That match was cool. I love doing crazier stuff like that with the hardcore matches. Shane was so hated at the time. It was great getting great pops like that every time you hit him. When Test and Albert came down and interfered, it was more fighting back. I got to showcase my weapons. I loved doing that stuff. Obviously, going up the titantron, I don't think people were sure or unsure what was going on at that point when I knocked Shane off and he dropped that distance and I came down and dropped an elbow on him. A great pop. When you got the people like that and they are popping and dying to see that happen, it's a great day," said Blackman.

WWE Vault uploaded the bout on its YouTube channel, and Blackman introduced the match, reflecting on the reactions of the crowd as Shane fell, and he followed him down with an elbow drop.
