Sting: I'm Going To Have 'A Bunch Of Stitches' In My Lip After Dive On 6/28 AEW Dynamite

Sting says he got a little banged up on the June 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, but it was worth it.

On the June 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, Sting and Darby Allin headlined the show, as they faced "The Painmaker" Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a Tornado Tag Team Match. The chaotic bout spilled all over the arena, and in one memorable moment, the 64-year old Sting jumped off a ladder and sent Guevara through a table with a splash. The landing looked fairly rough for "The Icon", but he and Allin went on to win the match.

In a post-show promo (courtesy of @AEWGold on Twitter), Sting noted that he'd have to get a bunch of stitches in his lip, and he stated a tooth that seemed like it was nearly knocked out. However, he expressed that it was worth it.

"I’m gonna have a bunch of stitches and my lip, and a tooth that seems halfway knocked out, and it was worth it to be right here. Thank you to Tony Khan for allowing me to do this," Sting said.

Sting went on to state that he wouldn't have made it this far in AEW without Darby Allin, and he called Darby the top tag team partner he's ever had.

At the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door post-show media scrum, Sting stated that he had not decided on a date for his retirement match. Click here to see what he had to say.
