CM Punk is a ratings draw, says Sting.
Sting recently competed in the main event of AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash in a tag team match with Darby Allin and CM Punk. That episode of Dynamite scored over a million viewers for AEW, the first time Dynamite has surpassed one million viewers since the anniversary show on October 6, and Sting does not want all the credit despite Ric Flair trying to give it to him.
On Twitter, Sting responded to Ric Flair trying to give him all of the credit for the rating pop by saying that all six men in the match drew the rating, and CM Punk in particular is one superstar that leads the pack in drawing ratings.
Love you Ric, but giving credit where credit is due - all 6 of us drew a rating and @CMPunk leads the pack. https://t.co/TurA1TJaft

Sting has been very complimentary of his time working alongside CM Punk, recently telling Sports Illustrated that he believes CM Punk gets Road Warrior-level pops
“CM Punk, he’s truly amazing to me,” Sting says. “Hearing the crowd respond to him, it’s made me turn back the clock and think of all the different memorable reactions over the years to different wrestlers. I’ve especially been thinking about The Road Warriors. Animal was really big on that. He would say, ‘This guy got a huge pop, but it wasn’t a Road Warrior pop.’ That’s what Punk gets.”
CM Punk return to wrestling after a seven-year absence in August 2021 and this match with Sting and Darby Allin against The Pinnacle was the first time he headlined any AEW program.
