The Street Profits Return At WWE Royal Rumble

The Street Profits are back, and they want the smoke.

At WWE Royal Rumble, DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) defended the WWE Tag Team Championship against the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin). The match marked the Motor City Machine Guns' WWE premium live event debut.

DIY scored the first fall when Ciampa secretly tagged in and drilled Shelley with a running knee for the pinfall. Sabin rallied and gained the upper hand with a flurry of offense. He dove onto Gargano and Ciampa at ringside. Sabin spiked Gargano with a tornado DDT, and the Motor City Machine Guns hit Gargano with the Skull and Bones to score the second fall.

The two teams kept going back and forth. Gargano accidentally kicked Ciampa, and the Motor City Machine Guns capitalized with a serious of double-team moves.

The Street Profits ran in and attacked the Motor City Machine Guns. DIY took advantage of the situation and hit Shelley with Meet in the Middle for the win.

After the match, the Street Profits attacked DIY and raised the WWE Tag Team Championships.

The Street Profits had been out of action since December, as Nick Aldis announced that they had suffered injuries at live events. The duo competed on the December 27th episode of WWE SmackDown, where they defeated Los Garza (Angel & Berto). They then wrestled the next night at a live event that was part of the WWE Live Holiday Tour.
