Swerve Strickland is headed to Dynasty.
In the main event of the March 27 episode of AEW Dynamite, Swerve Strickland was able to pick up a major victory, defeating Konosuke Takeshita in a singles match. Strickland won the bout after planting Takeshita with his signature Big Pressure move.

As a result, Strickland will now get another crack at gold, as he is set to challenge Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship at the promotion's upcoming Dynasty pay-per-view. Strickland last challenged for the title at the Revolution pay-per-view in a three way match that also included 'Hangman' Adam Page.
After the match, Samoa Joe cut a promo backstage and said that Strickland is about to catch the biggest fade in his life. Joe also taunted Strickland by claiming he's not ready and that he's not that man in AEW.
"You think you're ready...no, no, you're not that man"
