In the midst of the fall out from NXT's second Great American Bash event and heading into this next episode of 205 Live, we'll see some intense bouts preceding the NXT Breakout Tournament on July 13th. One of the 205 Live stars set for action this week is none other than 205 mainstay, Asher Hale. After some recent WWE releases shaking up the WWE brands, each opportunity becomes that much more valuable for a WWE Superstar and their advancement in their brand. Asher Hale is one of those superstars looking for an edge over the rest of the competition especially with the NXT Breakout Tournament fast approaching.
While WWE.com claims Asher Hale "is primed for a slug fest with Josh Briggs,'" I and Fightful.com disagree. I personally think this could be the perfect opportunity a WWE Superstar could capitalize on and regain necessary momentum. A key moment providing the optimal occasion for Asher Hale himself to show exactly why he should have been selected for the 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament. As a Pro Wrestler myself, I can attest to the need to feel recognized. To have the ability to showcase what you are truly capable of. To feel that all of your painstaking hard work is coming full circle towards your dream. In the upcoming announced singles bout, Asher Hale will have that opportunity to personify and elevate the immensely promising potential that is currently residing in the purple brand known as 205 Live.
Now it is certainly safe to say that Josh Briggs is definitely not a competitor to be taken lightly. As one of the announced WWE Superstars competing in the 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament, Josh Briggs will be looking to stay ready and focused. Briggs will be looking to be primed and ready for the tournament essentially using Asher Hale as practice. But, this will prove to be a highly pivotal match for both men and not just the 6' 8" giant, Josh Briggs. If Hale can secure a win over Briggs, that will be a huge upset. A win over a tournament talent comes with a sense of self-worth, validation, and some serious bragging rights over the rest of the division. Not to mention the mental warfare that would rage on and on in the head of Briggs with little time to recover between this bout on 205 Live and the beginning rounds of the NXT Breakout Tournament on NXT.
As Asher Hale prepares to square off with Josh Briggs whether it be a battle of wills, slug fest, or even a downright war in the ring, I think it's safe to say that both men will lay it all down on 205 Live. Literal blood, sweat, and tears have gone into who these WWE Superstars are today. One being fully recognized right now, and the other overcoming a series of downs in order to get back up and on the track to superstardom in WWE. A David versus Goliath type of match. A test of who wants it more. Who's A game will outperform and withstand the other? Will Josh Briggs' brawling style wear out and keep Asher Hale off of his feet?
