Tag team tournament action will continue on January 27's WWE Friday Night SmackDown, and Rey Mysterio will be in for a significant challenge.
On January 20, WWE began a tournament to crown new number-one contenders for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships. In first-round action, Drew McIntyre & Sheamus, the Banger Bros, had another banger match against Viking Raiders, Erik and Ivar, but, in the end, the former WWE Champions were able to come out on top.
On January 27, Drew & Sheamus will take on Hit Row. Ashante Adonis & Top Dolla defeated Angel & Humberto, Los Lotharios, to advance in the tournament.
Also taking place on January 27 in tournament action, Imperium's Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci will face Legado Del Fantasma. Imperium advanced by defeating Ridge Holland & Butch, while the tandem of Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde advanced by defeating the Maximum Male Models.
