Surprise entrants included Fujita Hayato, wrestling his first match in NJPW since 2011 and Takashi Iizuka, who retired in 2019. Taichi ended 2023 as the King of Pro Wrestling Champion, earning himself the title for the year.
Iizuka and Taichi were part of the final seven and seemed to agree to a truce, but Iizuka started to bite at Taichi. As they were entangled, the other five competitors eliminated them from the competition. They continued to brawl after the match.
