Another update in Tammy Sytch's trial.
According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, the defense attorney for Tammy Sytch (Sunny in WWE) is seeking a lower sentence for her client because she requires specialized treatment for a mental disorder or for a physical disability.
Sytch's lowest permissible sentence is 10.5 years in prison, but according the motion filed by her defense, Sytch is seeking a "downward departure," meaning a sentence below the 10.5 years.
Sytch is represented by Assistant Public Defender Jessica Roberts.
The basis for that request is that Sytch "requires specialized treatment for a mental disorder that is unrelated to substance abuse or addiction or for a physical disability, and the defendant is amenable to treatment."
Sytch said in her plea that she had been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder. Two psychiatrists were listed as witnesses in the motion.
Sytch is set to appear November 27 for sentencing. A prosecutor has asked that be be sentenced to the maximum of 26 years in prison for the crash that that killed a 75-year-old man on March 25, 2022. Sytch was called a "danger to society" for repeated offenses of driving under the influence.
