Taylor Wilde Discusses Having Self-Doubt About Her 2021 IMPACT Return

Taylor Wilde was having doubts right before her return to IMPACT Wrestling in 2021.

The wrestling world was stunned multiple times at IMPACT's Rebellion pay-per-view in 2021. Not only did Kenny Omega defeat Rich Swann to become the new IMPACT World Champion at the event, but Taylor Wilde also made her return to professional wrestling after being out of the business for nearly ten years.

Although Wilde's return wasn't in front of a crowd, she was still having self-doubts about her return right before her music was about to hit. In a new interview with Denise Salcedo, Wilde detailed what was going through her head right before she made her return to the squared circle.

"There was a moment when I was standing in gorilla before I re-debuted back in March 2021 and just before my music hit, I was literally like ‘What the f*ck am I doing’. Like seriously, what the f*ck am I doing. I am wearing sparkly tights again, I am 35 years old, I am a mom and a firefighter, what am I doing. My legs felt like cement, I was sweating. [Throughout] my entire career, I’ve never felt nervous. There was literally a moment where I was like ‘What am I doing, seriously?’. I literally was having a full inner monologue. I was like ‘I’ve made this decision way too late, here we go.’"

Wilde went on to reveal that once she made it to the stage, all of the nerves washed away.

“As soon as I hit the stage, all the negative self-talk cycle, which is you know in all of us. You question everything you do and I was going through a lot of personal stress at the same time and I think that was probably a bigger part of it because when I hit that stage and I saw all of my Wilde Ones and all of my sisters, I was like ‘Oh, I am home!’. It just all washed away within seconds. All of that dissipated the second I hit the stage.”

Following her recent return to the company at Bound For Glory, Wilde taped a IMPACT TV match with Mia Yim. Although the match has yet to air, Yim recently put out a statement commenting on her departure from the company. Click here to learn more.

In the past, Wilde has revealed that she wants to become a producer following her in-ring retirement. Click here to check out her full comments on the matter.
