NXT Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton and Becky Lynch met face-to-face on WWE Raw.
Tiffany Stratton and Becky Lynch have been feuding in recent weeks, dating back to the August 22 episode of WWE NXT. There, Stratton stated that she would be the greatest NXT Women's Champion of all time, and she named Lynch as a former champion.
Stratton then appeared in the crowd on the August 28 episode of WWE RAW, and she confronted Lynch at WWE Payback. On the September 5 episode of NXT, Lynch announced that she will challenge Stratton for the gold on September 12.
On the September 11 episode of WWE Raw, Stratton appeared in a backstage segment. Becky Lynch showed up and said Stratton could be the future, but she's not, as she's only concerned with being famous. Lynch said she would make Stratton famous by taking her title.

Stratton responded by saying she didn't need Lynch to make her famous, as she has been doing fine on her own. She told Lynch she would beat her and make her name. The two stars signed the contract for the match, making it official.
