TM-61 Returns During NXT Tapings

In a year that saw several WWE tag teams break up, one team is returning to NXT after a lengthy injury to one of its members.

TM-61 has returned to NXT during NXT's latest set of tapings on September 14. Fightful managing editor Sean Ross Sapp is present at Full Sail University, where the tapings are being held, and confirmed TM-61's return at the start of the tapings.

Shane Thorne suffered a knee injury back in January, potentially putting the team's move to the main roster on hold. Thorne had surgery to repair his knee and the prognosis had him return in 7-9 months. Thorne and tag partner Nick Miller were reportedly in Terry Taylor's finishing class, often a sign that an NXT wrestler is about to move up to the main roster.

TM-61 had a big year in 2016, advancing all the way to the finals of the 2016 edition of the Dusty Rhodes Classic, losing to The Authors of Pain at NXT TakeOver: Toronto. En route to the finals, TM-61 defeated the likes of Sanity in the semifinals as well as the team of Riddick Moss and Tino Sabbatelli in the first round

The duo has been with WWE since 2015 and have spent time as a tag team since making their pro debuts in 2010. At the time of the injury, TM-61 was set to feud with former NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival, according to reports.
