- Tommaso Ciampa returned to NXT after being absent for many weeks, taking out his frustrations on Jake Atlas in his first match back.
- This week saw the return of Wade Barrett as a commentator for NXT and he revealed during tonight's NXT that he will be back next week on September 1.
- This week's episode of NXT saw Santos Escobar defend the NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Isaiah "Swerve" Scott. Although Escobar was victorious, Scott says he's not done.

- Although Escobar's reign remains intact, the same can't be said about the tag team titles.
- Speaking of titles, the NXT Championship is now vacant and William Regal announced plans to crown a new champion.
- In the main event of tonight's NXT, Io Shirai & Rhea Ripley faced off against Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez in a tag team match.
