Tony Khan isn't a proponent of mass layoffs.
After coming out earlier in the episode to unveil Stokely Hathaway and Jerry Lynn as ROH's Board of Directors, Tony Khan made another appearance to praise the work they've already done. The AEW President was joined by Hathaway and Lynn and boasted about their cost-saving solutions for ROH.
Khan then joked that they wouldn't use every idea, calling out Hathaway's idea of mass layoffs. After the crowd booed, Khan said that he wouldn't do that as it's a bad idea. He also shot down Stokely's idea to remove all lucha libre wrestling from ROH.

Over the past handful of years, WWE has unfortunately had a number of mass layoffs. A lot of that talent, though, has found its way to AEW, including names such as Malakai Black, Miro, Swerve Strickland, Ruby Soho, and Toni Storm, just to name a few.
