Tony Khan Could See AEW Expanding To Ten PPVs Per Year, But Thinks Nine Is 'A Great Number'

As it currently stands, AEW has nine pay-per-views per year, expanding from their original four when the company first launched.

Tony Khan is happy with that number, but could potentially add one more.

Tony Maglio of The Hollywood Reporter published a new report on AEW Dynamite surpassing WCW Nitro in the number of episodes, and included comments from Tony regarding the number of PPVs per year.

From THR:

PPVs serve as the payoff points to the storylines laid out by weekly TV shows, like Dynamite. And Khan believes he’s found the sweet spot in terms of annual count; AEW currently is at nine pay-per-view events per year, but Khan could see it going up to 10. WWE is doing 17 of what it now bills as “Premium Live Events” this year.

For now, nine is “a great number,” Khan said.

AEW is coming off its AEW Dynasty pay-per-view on April 6th. They will return to PPV on May 25th with AEW Double or Nothing.
