Tony Khan says that AEW Worlds End may be the site of revelations as it pertains to "The Devil" storyline.
The main storyline surrounding Maxwell Jacob Friedman and the AEW World Title centers around a masked "Devil" and his masked assailants. On the December 27 episode of AEW Dynamite, it was revealed that Samoa Joe was working with the Devil in order to swerve MJF and have more of an advantage going into their upcoming AEW World Title bout on December 30 at AEW Worlds End.
Speaking on the media call prior to the event, Tony Khan told Ten Count's Steve Fall that it does feel like there could be a revelation coming in the storyline by the pay-per-view event on Long Island.
"It feels like we’re getting close to that point. I do expect some big revelations and big moments at Worlds End. It’s its own idea, and it’s something that I’m excited about. I do feel like it’s coming close to the culmination and it does feel like the secrets will be revealed at Worlds End, and I’m looking forward to it. It’s been very different than the other aspects of AEW. One aspect of it has been really interesting and it’s been something to keep people hooked and those people that want to see that kind of episodic story is really something that has a lot of people talking and built a lot of interest for Worlds End is the identity of the Devil," he said.
Samoa Joe's deal with the Devil turned out to be fruitful for his assailants as the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship is currently held by two unknown names that are associated with the Devil. Learn more here.
