Tony Khan Explains His Tweet Saying That He And Nick Khan Couldn’t Be More Different

All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan has clarified the remarks he made after being confused for WWE Co-CEO Nick Khan.

On October 3, Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports confused the two Khans, believing it was Tony that got Barstool Van Talk canceled when it was actually Nick. Tony then responded by saying that he could not be more different from the WWE executive.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani, Tony shared that he has never met Nick Khan. He then commented on his tweet where he seemingly called Nick Khan "two-faced."

"I would rather someone take shots at me publicly. I have no problem if somebody has a problem with me saying it to my face. So yeah, I don’t know," Tony said.

Helwani would follow up, asking why Tony feels Nick is two-faced, prompting the following response.

“I didn’t say, Dave said that. I said, ‘Dave, we’re two completely different people. Then I promoted my show. Two more different people we could not be, here’s to not being two-faced because I’m not the guy you’re talking about," Tony explained.

The AEW President would conclude by sharing his belief as to why he and Nick Khan are totally different people.

“We’re totally different people. I love the nuts and bolts of the wrestling business, and I’ve never claimed to be the power player/agent person, although I am a partner in a talent management company, so in some ways, that is part of what I do. But we do two completely different things. There’s definitely some intersections of the things we do, but I think we do them in very different ways. We’re two completely different people," he said.

Elsewhere during the interview, Tony Khan said that AEW and WWE likely have similar free-agent profiles now. Click here to learn more.
