Tony Khan comments on AEW potentially running The Sphere in Las Vegas.
The Sphere in Las Vegas open in September 2023 and has become a big attraction in the entertainment world with U2, Phish, and Dead & Company playing at the venue. The NHL held the 2024 draft at The Sphere.
Appearing on The Dan LeBatard Show, Tony Khan was asked if he's talked about having an AEW event at The Sphere.
"Through my management company, Activist Artists Management, we represent the Grateful Dead, the Dead & Company, great artists. Have had some conversations about that, but I think it's a long long way away. There is a long line to get into The Sphere," he said.
UFC is set to host UFC 304 on September 14 at The Sphere.
On July 27, Fightful Select published the following report regarding wrestling at The Sphere:
We’re told by those associated with the venue that there has been some inquiry from wrestling companies about the possibility of running shows there, but not prior to 2025. We’re told that AEW Double or Nothing in 2025 could be for another venue in Vegas, but now there’s a strong possibility it won’t be there since WrestleMania is set for Las Vegas. However, we can confirm there have been inquiries from wrestling companies regarding the possibility of running an event there.
Thus far, we’ve only heard that there are inquiries, as opposed to plans.
Elsewhere during the interview, Tony commented on contract tampering and how he believes it has not stopped with WWE. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
