Tony Khan: If I Owned Another Wrestling Company Besides AEW And ROH, I Would Want Separate Rosters

Tony Khan comments on a big hypothetical.

WWE is currently engaged with outside advisors to review strategic alternatives in relation to upcoming media rights negotiations. One strategic alternative is a potential sale of the company, which would happen before media rights deals for WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown are locked in. Nick Khan recently stated that a sale could happen quickly, possibly within the next three months.

Tony Khan has said multiple times that he is interested in the WWE sale process and potentially being involved in the process.

Speaking on Bex & Buster, Khan was asked if he were to own another wrestling company, would he keep the rosters separate or immediately open the Forbidden Door?

"If I owned another wrestling company besides the two I already own, it would be very challenging, but I think we would want to maintain separate rosters just like I've tried to keep AEW and Ring of Honor to where there is crossover between the companies, but both have a strong pay-per-view business and AEW has great television. Soon, I'll have more to talk about regarding when and where Ring of Honor's weekly TV will be on HonorClub and, going forward, when and where we're going to tape those shows. There is some example of what we would do as far as keeping the pay-per-view business separate, but having some crossover. It would certainly be different if it were a different company. With AEW and Ring of Honor, I'm very happy with what we're doing. Certainly, if there were other opportunities that arose in terms of acquisitions then I would certainly be interested in (them)," he said.

With reports of Vince McMahon looking to sell WWE, it was reported that Tony & Shad Khan were "in the pool of" potential suitors. The Khan family is involved in owning and running AEW, ROH, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Fulham FC.

Tony purchased ROH in March 2022 and has often utilized ROH talent on AEW television while running separate pay-per-view events.
