Tony Khan comments on the AEW World Championship picture going into AEW Worlds End.
Jon Moxley is the only four-time AEW World Champion. However, his current reign is much different than his past ones. This time, MOX is a heel and has vowed to change the structure of AEW along with his group of Death Riders (Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Marina Shafir). This has drawn the ire of Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Hangman Page, Jay White, and other top stars in AEW.
Speaking about the current state of the AEW Title picture, Tony Khan told Sports Guys Talking Wrestling that he's excited to see so many of the top names in the company go after Moxley. However, Khan reiterates that he believes Jon Moxley is the greatest champion in the company's history.
"I'm really excited about having the top stars in AEW, all gunning for the championship. I don't think they're all aligned with each other, but they're all aligned in that they want to take the championship from Jon Moxley, and we saw the fans chanting 'AEW' as Hangman Page, Jay White, and Orange Cassidy teed off on the champion. I thought that was awesome. And that's three of the biggest names in AEW, chasing possibly the biggest name ever in AEW, the greatest champion in our history, John Moxley, the four-time World Champion of AEW, the six-time World Champion, the only man ever to hold the AEW, WWE, and IWGP World Championships. Jon Moxley is a great wrestler, a great champion, but he is definitely the object of pursuit from some of the biggest stars in AEW and I think it's really exciting what's happening every week on Wednesday night, Dynamite on TBS and on TNT every weekend, on AEW with the great stars chasing the Death Riders."
Sting recently stated that Darby Allin will soon be AEW Champion at some point in 2025. Fans can read Darby's response to that here.
