Tony Khan Says Adam Copeland Reached Out 'Not Long After' AEW Grand Slam

Tony Khan gives the timeline of when talks began with Adam Copeland.

Adam Copeland made his AEW debut at AEW WrestleDream, officially leaving WWE after a 25-year run. Copeland (Edge in WWE) wrestled his last match for WWE on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown, defeating Sheamus. His contract with WWE expired in September.

Appearing on Maggie & Perloff, Tony Khan was asked when negotiations with Copeland began.

"Not long after AEW Grand Slam, we had Adam Copeland reach out, he was out of contract. He is one of the most popular and one of the most successful wrestlers of all time. To have Adam Copeland in AEW is a huge deal for us," said Khan.

Copeland is set to make his in-ring debut on the October 10 episode of AEW Dynamite when he faces Luchasaurus.
