Tony Khan is hopeful that Daniel Garcia will remain with AEW for a long time.
The 22-year old star has been making an impact in AEW as of late, teaming with 2point0 and having matches with the likes of Jon Moxley and Darby Allin.
In a post-show media scrum following Rampage: The First Dance, Tony Khan was asked about Garcia's status with the company, saying the following:
"Daniel Garcia's doing awesome. He's done tremendous work recently for us and has been involved in some really important matches. It's great to have a fresh young heel who can come in and immediately get thrown into the fire and succeed and really come through for us in these situations. So he is under an agreement, and I think he can do a lot more things and really shine for us in the future and stay with us for a long time, hopefully. So Daniel Garcia is doing great work and he had a great match with Moxley tonight in the main event match of the show."
After CM Punk marvelled at how young Garcia is, Khan continued on to highlight how far he has come since being in a car accident. Khan even explained how he thought it would be cool to have him teamed up with the recently signed 2point0.
"He's come a long way from that car accident," Tony began by saying. "This kid broke his legs in a car accident a couple of years ago. He really worked his ass off to get where he's at and, you know, he's a kid who came through on AEW Dark and had some really good matches and, you know, 2point0 had come available as free agents and I really wanted to do a trios match with Darby and Eddie and Mox and I thought it would be cool to have those three guys out there together with Sting. It just so happened that Garcia was really probably the freshest young face on AEW Dark and 2point0 had been really a good tag team, I thought, on NXT and on the independents, and so that made a lot of sense to me as a trio. They just hit home run after home run with Sting and Darby and tonight with Moxley with Eddie."
Garcia lost in the main event of Rampage to Jon Moxley. After the match, he and 2point0 were on the receiving end of a beatdown from Moxley, Kingston, Allin, and Sting.
