Tony Khan discusses CM Punk's torn triceps injury that he suffered in AEW.
When CM Punk was in AEW, he suffered a torn triceps during his match with Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title at AEW All Out 2022.
During the media call prior to AEW Dynasty 2024, Tony Khan was asked by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics about claims CM Punk made that he paid for his own medical care following that injury.
Tony Khan claimed that he was uncertain about that but he would look into it and said that if Punk did pay for his own care, he would be reimbursed because AEW does take care of expenses for talent injuries when they are injured in an AEW ring.
"We typically do pay those expenses. I’d have to look into that. I can’t say for sure. It doesn’t sound right to me. If that is the case, I would reimburse him, honestly. I didn’t think that was the case and it doesn’t sound right, so I would have to look into that. Typically, we do cover those medical expenses, especially for something that occurred in the ring, as that did, so I would have to look into that. I can’t say for sure," said Khan.
