Tony Khan comments on Mike Santana's return to AEW.
After sustaining a knee injury in June 2022, Mike Santana made his return to All Elite Wrestling in August 2023, aiding the Blackpool Combat Club in their fight against Death Triangle and Best Friends.
After competing in the Stadium Stampede match at AEW All In, Santana is set to return to singles action on the September 22 episode of AEW Rampage.
In a recent interview with the Superstar Crossover podcast, Tony Khan that he's excited to have Santana back in AEW. Khan also stated that he's interested to see if Santana decides to continue tagging with Ortiz, or if he chooses to go on a solo run.
"Well, Mike Santana is a great wrestler. I really like Mike Santana. I think it's definitely something, that he's back in AEW, that we're all excited about. I really am interested to see where he goes as a single now, if he's going to be an individual and not part of this great tag team we've seen for such a long time, Santana and Ortiz. I think I'm interested to know where they each go as individuals. Certainly, it's been a great situation as a tag team, but if it's not sustainable, they're two great pro wrestlers. So it's something to keep an eye on for sure."
