Tony Khan comments on WWE signing with Netflix.
On January 23, WWE and Netflix announced that WWE Raw would be coming to Netflix in January 2025. This marks a big change for WWE as Raw will be off linear television for the first time since the show premiered in January 1993, moving to an OTT streaming service.
Appearing on Payne & Pendergast, AEW President Tony Khan was asked if WWE moving to Netflix lifts the world of wrestling, including AEW.
"Absolutely. We're excited to get big media rights renewals in the wrestling business. That's great to see for everybody. We're in a big contract year, too, and I think AEW is going to get big media rights. Right now, we have a great partnership on TBS and TNT that I want to continue for a long time. We've been on since 2019, it's five years now we're going on TBS and TNT, and it's been great and I want to keep it going because there is a great tradition of wrestling on those channels.
said Khan.
AEW Dynamite premiered in October 2019 on TNT, but moved to TBS in January 2022. AEW Collision and AEW Rampage air on TNT.
While making the media rounds during Super Bowl week, Khan commented on the success of ROH on HonorClub. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
