Tony Schiavone Announces Penelope Ford Is Injured And Unable To Compete On 10/21 AEW Rampage

Penelope Ford is currently dealing with an injury, according to Tony Schiavone.

On the October 21 episode of AEW Rampage, Schiavone interviewed TBS Champion Jade Cargill, who previously threatened to hijack the show if Nyla Rose didn't give the champion her stolen title belt back. During the interview, Schiavone stated that Ford is injured and unable to compete. Ford was scheduled to face Willow Nightingale on Friday, but she was replaced by Leila Grey.

Ford's specific injury was not disclosed. As of this writing, it's unclear how long she'll be sidelined.

In August, Ford returned to the ring after she missed several months with an injury; until her first match back at the AEW Dark: Elevation tapings on August 10, she hadn't wrestled since January. During Ford's previous recovery, Tony Khan stated that she's a great wrestler, and he couldn't wait until she was cleared to compete.

Fightful will continue to monitor the situation and provide more information as it becomes available.
