Tony Schiavone speaks highly of Samoa Joe.
Former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe is one of the most decorated veterans on AEW's roster, as he is a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion and ROH World Champion. He has also held the NXT Championship three times. Throughout his career, Joe has built up his reputation as a consummate professional.
Speaking on his What Happened When podcast, Tony Schiavone shared his thoughts on Samoa Joe.
"Samoa Joe to me is one of the great professionals I’ve ever worked with. Joe is just…you ask Joe to go to an interview, you say, ‘Joe, we got a pretape to do,’ he says okay, and he goes right then. Never ask…some guys will go and they’ll fuck off, and it’s hard to find them. Not Joe. Got a lot of time for Joe. Samoa Joe, professional. There’s a handful of guys you can depend on, maybe two hands full, and he’s one of the tops. Not only that, he gives you great matches. He really does. For a guy his size, he can move, he can do a lot of things, he’s legit strong, legit tough guy. Lot of time for him," Schiavone said.
Joe has been absent from AEW since Chris Jericho put him on a forklift and drove him through a wall on the July 10th episode of AEW Dynamite. AEW then announced that Joe would be out of action indefinitely.
Samoa Joe had been filming the second season of "Twisted Metal" in recent months, but the show recently wrapped production. More information is available here.
