Trent Seven is very confident in the NXT UK roster.
NXT UK is a few weeks removed from their TakeOver: Blackpool show and they are moving forward full speed to the next TakeOver event. In the opening match of that NXT UK TakeOver show were the duos of 'Moustache Mountain' and the 'Grizzled Young Veterans' (Zack Gibson and James Drake) competing for the vacant NXT UK Tag Team Championships.
In the end it was Drake and Gibson becoming the first-ever NXT UK Tag Team Champions. Trent Seven and Tyler Bate are now regrouping to get themselves back in contention for another shot at those titles. Bate and Seven were interviewed by 'The Sun' prior to TakeOver: Blackpool and during the discussion between the two parties, Seven stated that NXT UK has the best in-ring performers in the United Kingdom and Europe.
“It’s a hotbed of talent at the moment. We’ve got the best performers from not only the United Kingdom but Europe as well, in that ring and getting trained by some of the best coaches in the world. Even if you take the Performance Center out of things, the independent scene has been leaving an absolute trail of dust. It’s been smoking hot for two or three years." Seven said. "We worked really hard to build that base throughout the few top independent companies. That always filters down. There are people here that did wrestle for those companies and people here that didn’t and there are people from all countries around the world. The point is we have all come together and will hopefully build what will be the start of an empire.”
There are a plethora of stars wrestling in the UK who are not a part of the NXT UK roster as well and one of those talents is a former WWE star -- that being the current Dragon Gate 'Open The Dream Gate' Champion PAC. Fightful has a video posted of PAC's return to Newcastle at the 'Defiant' tapings and to watch that video, click here.
