Trick Williams is excited for Carmelo Hayes.
Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes were friends and tag team partners, but Hayes turned on Trick, and they had a heated feud. Williams beat Hayes at NXT Stand & Deliver. He then defeated Hayes in a Steel Cage match on the April 16 episode of NXT. Williams went on to defeat Ilja Dragunov to win the NXT Championship at NXT Spring Breakin'. Hayes was later drafted by SmackDown during the opening night of the 2024 WWE Draft.
In a SmackDown Exclusive, Trick Williams was asked to share his thoughts on Carmelo Hayes moving to SmackDown.
"Yo, I’m super hyped, super excited for Carmelo Hayes. He is a phenomenal talent. As everybody knows, he is him. However, I do think it’s extremely bold to call out Cody Rhodes your first day on the job, but hey, do what the people told you to do, whoop that trick," Williams said.
Williams also noted that Hayes was ambitious, and he thought that facing Cody Rhodes would make Carmelo better. Hayes went on to lose to Rhodes in a hard-fought match.
