Triple H loves using guys with experience like Paul Ellering.
Paul Ellering has managed wrestlers like the Legion of Doom, King Kong Bundy, and Jake Roberts and while the Authors of Pain were in NXT Ellering was their manager as they became NXT Tag Team Champions and won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. When Authors of Pain went to the main roster they left Ellering behind which played out on television. In a conference call for NXT Takeover: Chicago, Triple H was asked about Ellering's future with WWE.
"When they got the nod and Paul wasn't going to go with them. I pulled Paul aside and said 'look, I don't want to do it today because I don't want it to come off as a substitution'...I love what Paul did for us in NXT and I loved him being part of the brand. He was great to have around, talent really liked having him around, his insight, and everything else. He did add something to AOP," said Triple H. "I told him then 'I want to look for something else. I want to look for the right thing and when I have it I'll give you a ring and if you're still free and available, I'd love to do it,'" he continued.
Triple H went on to say he loves using guys like Ellering who have experience because they add stuff on screen and backstage in the locker room.
