Triple H: My Past Disagreements With CM Punk Came Down To Bad Communication

There is no love lost between Triple H and CM Punk.

13 years ago, the two were at each others' throats, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Things got so bad for CM Punk, that he ended up leaving the company. He wouldn't return for another 10 years. But return, he did and the second verse is quite unlike the first. Thus far, the two have had nothing but complimentary things to say about each other.

Such was the case recently when Triple appeared on the High Performance Podcast and admitted that his previously disagreements with Punk came down to bad communication.

"I think a lot of times our disagreements over the years came down to bad communication with each other. I was the in-between guy of what the creative team wanted and what he wanted, but I was trying to smooth it all over and from his point of view, I was seen as the enemy. Then, he didn’t trust me, so I couldn’t get him to open up. I can’t collaborate with you if you’re not open. He would be closed down so I couldn’t collaborate with him," Triple H said.

When asked if the two just stopped talking, Triple H hinted at the affirmative.

Sort of. Probably a dislike of each other, but based on bad communication," he said.

These days, the two seem to be communicating very well. Punk has said that Triple H is receptive to other ideas and that the best idea wins.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Triple H praised the collaboration between himself, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Paul Heyman. Check out his full comments on that collaboration by clicking here.
