In a move we were all expecting for a while now, Triple H has announced that NXT Takeover will be returning to Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Summerslam Weekend for the third time.
NXT Takeover Brooklyn III, as you can guess from its name, is the third Takeover event to be held in Brooklyn. The first, in 2015, saw Bayley defeat Sasha Banks for the NXT Women's Championship, in what many consider to be the greatest women's match ever to take place in a WWE ring. The second, last year, featured a main event of Shinsuke Nakamura winning the NXT Championship from Samoa Joe, as well as current champion Bobby Roode making his NXT in-ring debut and a match of the year candidate tag title match between The Revival and Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano.
At this time, there are no obvious storylines leading to matches for this year's event.
