Triple H Says Pete Dunne Made A Name For Himself

Triple H was very pleased with the Tyler Bate vs Pete Dunne match at NXT Takeover: Chicago, saying that Dunne especially "hit it out of the park."

On a Facebook Live interview after Takeover, Triple H had a lot of compliments for the WWE United Kingdom Championship match. Pete Dunne became the champion after pinning the inaugural champion Tyler Bate. Triple H talked about how the match was a great example of the United Kingdom's talent and he said he looks forward to the future of the brand.

"If you look at the U.K., there's a lot of talent there: Wolfgang, Trent Seven, Mark Andrews, and more that are out there and will be coming in. That's just what we're dealing with right this second. As that brand becomes bigger and bigger and becomes its own show in the world and becomes more, that bar will rise," said Triple H. "On top of that, twenty-year-old Tyler Bate, who's had that UK Championship since January, been on NXT defending it, been around Europe defending it. (Bate) gets into the ring with Pete Dunne, who I said that night 'make a name for yourself, kid'. And he did just that here tonight. If that didn't solidify how great the talent is in the U.K., nothing will, " he continued.

Triple H also noted the guys appearing on WWE's United Kingdom shows were not nearly as known as they are now. He said he thinks WWE gave them a platform and Dunne especially "hit it out of the park." Dunne and Bate have wrestled twice for the WWE United Kingdom Championship and Triple H said he expects the rivalry to live on for a long time. WWE recently announced a United Kingdom program on WWE Network, which will feature Jim Ross and Nigel McGuinness on commentary.

WWE uploaded highlights of Triple H's Facebook Live interview to their YouTube channel.
